Job Summary
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will be responsible for the development and execution of Black & Veatch's global marketing strategy and initiatives. The CMO, reporting to the Chief Client Officer (CCO) will lead a team of marketing professionals across omnichannel marketing, events, PR & media, solution marketing and other creative assets and campaigns, brand management and social media.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan aligned with the company's strategic goals, objectives, thought leadership and brand positioning to support our growth as the go-to leader in sustainable infrastructure.
- Drive the development of marketing assets and campaigns that effectively communicate the value proposition of Black & Veatch's solutions and services to target clients; ensure routine engagement with Sector, Regional & Solution leaders regarding their goals, insights and campaigns needed for business development, sales & proposals and thought leadership.
- Build, validate and routinely sustain a comprehensive client decision journey mapping process that captures the specific personas and their buying behaviors and needs across the entire client lifecycle journey combined with the BV seller’s experience; develop aligned messaging, campaigns and leading metrics of engagement.
- Develop and lead regional specific marketing activities, content and positioning that is customized to the specific growth needs of our regions while driving standard alignment on core brand and capabilities; ensure routine engagement with our regional leaders.
- Lead the development of digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media, to increase brand awareness, generate leads, and drive customer engagement; engage deeply with the CIO team and external partners to ensure the sustained maintenance of best practices across our digital marketing technology stack.
- Manage the company's global events and conferences, ensuring seamless execution and maximum ROI inclusive of all stakeholders including clients, prospects, recruits, employees – drive a contemporary execution on design, impact and cost effectiveness.
- Develop and execute effective PR and media strategies to increase brand visibility and thought leadership including a comprehensive partnership and engagement program connecting target trade media, journalists and our executive leaders; ensure a rigorous process is enabled for all press engagements including dealing with reputational and crisis management incidents.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive brand strategy that includes brand positioning, messaging, visual identity, and guidelines that aligns to all internal and external stakeholders and extends across all physical and digital platforms.
- Routinely coach and support the marketing team at all levels of personal and skills development, develop ongoing succession & career progression opportunities while being a passionate advocate for recruiting a diverse top talent funnel.
- Implement a full and quantifiable set of marketing KPIs to drive progress against key growth initiatives including lead-to-revenue, share of voice, budget deployed that enables a dynamic set of controls and iterations to maximize the marketing impact.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, solutions & services management, and engineering teams, to ensure alignment and execution of marketing initiatives.
- Develop and manage a marketing budget, ensuring effective use of resources and marketing ROI (ROMI) backed by proactive insights and monthly reporting while dynamically adjusting budget items to respond to changing market needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field including advertising or related data science marketing analytics; MBA preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in B2B/B2B2C marketing with a proven emphasis on communicating with and growing new prospect demographics into recurring, profitable clients

Preferred Qualifications
- Ideal to have marketing experiences associated with the energy, sustainability, engineering or construction industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team of marketing professionals across all regions
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns across digital, events, PR & media, and social media channels.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to measure and optimize marketing performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to create and execute innovative, visionary marketing campaigns towards multigenerational audiences.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
Standard home and corporate office environment with the possibility of extensive screen time and the required use of various physical and electronic communication devices. As business travel is required, this role may also be exposed to varying weather and climate conditions as well as the required use of varied modes of transportation.
