CLS is currently searching for a service-minded, mission driven individual to fill the following position:
Compliance Coordinator (Anywhere in CLS Service Area)
OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Manager of Compliance, the Compliance Coordinator provides peer-to-peer support and guidance focused on compliance with regulations, policies, and holistic delivery of legal services. This role provides real-time feedback, audit support, and review of activities required to meet the strategic goals and contractual requirements across the firm, from initial Helpline encounters to the closing reviews of case files and subsequent audits/reporting. The Compliance Coordinator is also responsible for supporting the QA/Compliance Unit with drafting documents, pulling reports, staff trainings, and other administrative items as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for reviewing client case files, case notes, and use of best practices to maintain accuracy and uniformity firmwide.
- Maintain and edit documentation for Quality Assurance team.
- Attend meetings needed on behalf of the Quality Assurance team.
- Pull and review reports from case management system on a scheduled and as needed basis to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
- Assist with the drafting and maintenance of processes and procedures within the unit and firmwide as applicable to Quality Assurance.
- Identify and lead projects that include facilitating best practices, training opportunities/needs, and compliance with contractual obligations on behalf of grantors.
- Serves as a role model for all staff regarding compliances and quality assurance and assures consistency with Quality Assurance initiatives, case acceptance, case file documentation, and customer service.
- Identify opportunities and implement processes to achieve best-in-class performance, meeting Quality Assurance goals, and fostering a solutions-driven and collaborative environment.
- Establish, review, and update policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Train CLS staff and volunteers on Quality Assurance initiatives and best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Commitment

2. Background and Experience
- Preferred minimum two-year paralegal or legal studies degree coupled with five years’ experience working in the legal profession, law office and case file management, and an inclination to promote industry best practices.
- Must have the skills to work with the application of federal regulation, program policies, protocols, processes, and procedures.
- Exhibit the demeanor and skillset to conduct routine internal audit of client files electronically, review error reports, assist with reporting tasks, set priorities and keep organized records of backup documentation.
- Must have professional oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate competency working in a Case Management System.
- Experience creating presentations and training for staff a plus.
- Must be computer literate using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid Florida automobile license, use of own auto, and proof of insurance necessary.
- Must be able to travel to the offices within 12 county service area and sometimes outside of service area.
3. Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods siting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
SALARY: 55-60k
