Job Description
Position Objective: Provide services as a Data Analyst in support of the overall functions of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This role includes core database management duties and opportunities for both supporting and leading new data analytic projects supporting the SDN, NIMH: Maintaining and using the SDN clinical database which links cognitive and behavioral measures to sociodemographic, neuroimaging and genomic data elements; Collaborating with programmers to refine database design and query commands; Quality assessment, annotation and entering of data into the database; Working with other SDN members to create bespoke datasets for analysis from the dataset; Liaising with colleagues in departmental Data Science and Sharing and Machine Learning Teams; experience using SQL, Programming R, Python, and having the ability to lead projects.
Duties And Responsibilities - Perform data entry in support of a number of different systems and programs, both numerical and text format.
- Perform quality checks to ensure consistency, integrity and robustness of data.
- Working with other SDN members (postbaccalaureate to postdoc level) to create bespoke datasets for analysis from the dataset. 3
- Perform database searches and assemble data sets.
- Maintain data for past and present studies.
- Maintain a variety of computerized files and records.
- Develop, maintain and update program database and spreadsheet.
- Provide support for requests pertaining to new studies for electronic data capture or storage from investigators, review of current system or the creation and editing of CRFs and electronic capture tools/interface.
- Maintaining and using the SDN clinical database. 1
- Develop data dictionaries for each database.
- Work with database users to identify and resolve cases of missing data.
- Prepare databases and reports for staff; perform various tracking and analysis of branch data to include spreadsheet preparation and interpretation.
- Develop, maintain and update program database and spreadsheet.

Basic Qualifications - Master’s degree in computer programming and data processing, computer science, mathematics and computer science, statistics and decision science, physics, clinical psychology, information sciences, psychology, or a related discipline.
- Two (2) years of related experience required.
- Experience in scientific data analysis, statistical modeling, database management, data visualization, data analysis, data mining, and research.
- Skilled in Programming R, Microsoft Suite, Python, and MySQL.
Minimum Qualifications - Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
