Position Title: Events and Communications Assistant

Location: Escondido Golf and Lake Club, City of Horseshoe Bay, Texas

Reports To: Director of Events and Communications

Position Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and detail-oriented Events and Communications Assistant to join our dynamic team.

Position Summary:

The Events and Communications Assistant will support the organization, planning, coordination, and execution of events and communications at Escondido. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping to deliver high-quality service and experiences to our members and guests. As a hospitality role, viable candidates must have the ability to work holidays, evenings and weekends as needed for events.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Communications Support (10 hrs)

- Assist in drafting and editing content for newsletters, emails, Club App, and the club’s website, as assigned.

- Ensure all communications reflect the club’s brand and tone.

- Help maintain the timely dissemination of club information by maintaining App event listings and push notifications.

- Support the production of the club’s magazine as needed.

2. Event Planning and Coordination

- Assist in planning and executing club events, including social gatherings, tournaments, and special occasions.

- Maintain inventory and organization of Event Supplies

- Assist with creating and editing Banquet Event Orders

- Communicate with vendors and staff to ensure smooth event operations.

- Support the creation and distribution of event-related signage

3. Administrative Tasks

- Manage and update event and communication calendars.

- Maintain accurate records and files related to events and communications. - Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field preferred.

- Experience: 1 - 2 years’ experience in event planning, communications, or a related field is desired.

- Skills:

- Strong Graphic Design affinity or background.

- Strong customer service skills or background

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Proactive regarding task completion and communication.

- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Experience with App development and management.

- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Emma, Mailchimp) is a plus.

- Experience with Canva or other creative design software

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality standards.

- Flexibility to work holidays, evenings and weekends as needed for events.
