Danfoss in Tallahassee, FL is searching for a Mechatronics Intern. The intern will assist in design and development of centrifugal compressor with focus area of structural integrity, and will also assist with necessary tests required to validate the design.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

• Create 3D models and 2D drawings
• Perform stress analysis
• Support prototype build and testing for design validation
• Prepare test report and other design documentation as needed

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Candidates must be located within 50 miles of the work site
• Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours/week during the semesters and 30-40 hours/week during the Summer. Internship is expected to last 12 months
• Working knowledge of 3D modeling (Catia is preferred)
• Working knowledge of FEA software – Mechanical (ANSYS is preferred)
• Familiar with GD&T
• Excellent communication skills (with internal/external stakeholders)
