Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

The Brook – KMI is a 98-bed hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient, extended care, residential, partial hospitalization and outpatient services for adolescents, adults and seniors.

Our specialized treatment services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of highly trained psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, addiction counselors, nurses, pastoral counselors and activity therapists.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
• Administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
• Assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations.
• Initiate and document special treatment procedures.
• Provide and direct milieu management.
• Document nursing care, treatment and patient’s response to treatment.
• Provide health education to patients.
• Provide professional treatment for IOP/PHP for patients with mental health and/or substance use diagnosis
• Perform call coverage for the facilities in accordance with call coverage schedule.
• Keep and maintain appropriate records, reports, claims, and correspondence necessary and appropriate in connection with all professional services.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner board certification 

Licensure/Certifications:

Licensed APRN-CNP

Current CPR

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Nursing experience providing direct patient care, SUD experience preferred. 

Preferred: One year inpatient behavioral health work experience and one year medical/surgical nursing experience.
