Job Description

Seeking experienced Sr. Accountant responsible to perform daily/weekly tasks that will support multiple operating units. This position requires a well-organized and detailed oriented individual who can multi-task and self-motivate with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Review and audit accounts payable and receivable reports
• Investigate and resolving audit findings and account discrepancies
• Complete month-end closing process
• Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses
• Prepare monthly accruals and amortizations
• Maintain fixed assets, depreciation and prepare annual property tax filing
• Bank reconciliations
• Maintain and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
• Prepare account reconciliations
• Prepare financial analyses and reports
• Organize and prepare monthly financials (P&L, Balance Sheet, Budget)
• Prepare various state with sales tax returns
• Ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP requirements
• Support business processes, accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation
• Support and oversee year-end audits
• Assist with accounting projects or with other departments

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experienced with accounting software packages, QuickBooks
• Strong financial analysis skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work both independently and with different levels of employees
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
• Highly detail-oriented and organized with good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), including VLOOKUP and pivot tables. Accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration or Accounting or at least 3-5 years’ experience.
• Willingness to learn and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
