Job Description

Core Managed is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator that has the desire to join a fast-growing company. This will be an advanced level, fast paced position. The perfect candidate has previous IT experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer service talents to deal with non-technical users and exceptional time management skills.

General Description
This role assists our clients with the administration of their network, to include Physical Servers, Virtual Servers, Active Directory and Firewalls.  The role also serves as an third level escalation point for our Systems Administrators. A successful team member has strong critical thinking skills and emphasizes documentation and attention to detail.

Experience Required
Associates degree required, higher level degree desired.
Experience at a Managed Service Provider or other outsourced IT firm highly desired.

Skills Required
Having worked within an issue tracking (Ticketing) system in the past. Experience with ConnectWise Manage a strong plus.
  • Implementation and support for Microsoft related technologies

     
    • Windows Server
    • MSSQL
    • Azure
    • O365
  • Advanced administration of O365 platform
  • Virtualization experience and implementation (Hyper-V)
  • Automation experience:  Use of scripting tools or automation software to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Implementation of remote access solutions (VPN, Remote Desktop, RemoteApp)
  • Firewall implementation and high-level troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with complex networking concepts
  • Backups and data storage implementation/ replication

  • Ability to relate to clients and speak to non-technical end users
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Great writing skills for end-user communication as well as documentation of actions
  • Being willing to follow written process
  • Understand basic troubleshooting (cause/effect, following-the-chain) when there is no process
  • Team player, ready to dive into a diverse team of talented people

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; associate degree required
  • Reliable vehicle
  • Pass a drug test and background check
  • Occasionally work evenings and weekends (IT never stops)
