CloudShape is experiencing rapid growth within our IT & Engineering Portfolio. We are currently seeking a talented VMware Systems Engineer  to join our growing team. This person will be responsible for managing VMware automation, backup, recovery and patching for over 80 sites worldwide.

To be considered for this position, US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance is required. This is a funded position on a ten year contract. This position is contingent upon verification of an active security clearance prior to starting with Cloudshape.

Basic Qualifications:

• A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant IT experience is required.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a production environment.
• A proven past performance and/or ability to manage multiple VMware clusters.
• Ability to perform in a 24x7 environment. 
• An ability to self-direct and self-manage work schedules and tasks is required. 
• Qualified candidates should have strong communication, documentation, planning and organizational skills. An ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team environment while responding 24x7.
• An active Secret Clearance

Technical proficiencies that CloudShape is seeking include:

• Virtual Infrastructure: Ability to design, deploy, manage, maintain, and upgrade VMware (7/8) environments. Specifically,  VCSA and ESXi/vSphere Patching and Upgrades
• Scripting/Automation: Experience in automating engineering tasks utilizing scripting and/or orchestration tools. Specifically, proficiency in writing new scripts in Power CLI and/or PowerShell.
• Data Storage Technologies : Technical expertise with SAN. Maintain backup and recovery solutions, storage provisioning, storage management, implement data protections.  Storage experience with data storage - RAID, iSCSI, snapshot, volumes, volume groups, I/O performance.

• Experience with Cohesity, specifically backup and recovery, administration, upgrades, configuring, recoveries, troubleshooting
• Experience with Nutanix administration, upgrades, troubleshooting.
• Experience with  High Availability and Distributed Resource Scheduler, LifeCycle Manager, Security and permissions, Networking, Shared storage

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant education, certifications or further learning within the IT or related fields is preferred.
• AWS EC2 administration experience is preferred
• Physical Datacenter experience - racking/stacking/cable management
• Experience with vendor portals, ticketing systems, opening support cases is preferred.
